Study in Singapore from Uzbekistan: a UK degree, the 6+6 programme with a paid internship and SP Jain business school

Two schools for different goals. At TMC Academy you can start after school with English or a Foundation, earn a UK bachelor’s degree from Anglia Ruskin University, or take the 6+6 programme with a paid internship. At SP Jain the first year of the BBA is in Singapore, followed by Dubai and Sydney. Here are the fees, entry requirements and the Student’s Pass steps.

Why · Singapore

Why students choose this country

  1. 01

A UK degree without moving to the UK

TMC Academy’s bachelor’s and MBA degrees are awarded by the UK’s Anglia Ruskin University, while all teaching takes place in Singapore. The bachelor’s takes 36 months and costs S$31,857 for the whole course — about $8,300 a year.

  2. 02

You can start after grade 9 or 11

TMC accepts international students onto its Foundation and diploma courses after grade 9: from age 15 for the CTFP and from 16 for the Foundation Diploma. From there you can move on to a diploma and a bachelor’s degree.

  3. 03

    An internship that pays

In the 6+6 programme you spend six months after your classes working at a hotel or a travel company. TMC says the internship pays S$600–1,000 a month, and the employer applies for the work permit.

  4. 04

One of the safest countries in the world

Singapore ranks 8th of 163 countries in the Global Peace Index 2026, the highest in Asia. For parents this is one of the main arguments.

  5. 05

    Several countries in one programme

SP Jain’s BBA starts in Singapore, the second year is in Dubai or Singapore, and the third and fourth years are in Sydney. After Sydney graduates can apply for an Australian post-study work visa of up to 2 years, though SP Jain does not guarantee it.

  6. 06

Your fees are protected by the state

Only private schools with EduTrust certification may take international students; TMC’s certificate runs until 14 January 2030. TMC students’ fees are insured under the compulsory Fee Protection Scheme.

Visa

The Student’s Pass

In Singapore the Student’s Pass takes the place of a study visa. It is issued by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), and you apply online once your school has registered you for a course.

  • A private school may take international students only if it holds EduTrust certification; TMC’s runs until 14 January 2030. ICA lists SP Jain among overseas institutions with a campus in Singapore.
  • You apply no earlier than 3 months and no later than 2 months before the course starts. The fee is S$45. For EduTrust-certified schools ICA decides within two weeks.
  • You need the school’s registration letter, your passport, details of your education and of who pays for your studies. Documents not in English need a certified translation.
  • Once approved you receive an IPA letter; if you need a visa to enter, it is already included. In Singapore you take a medical check, visit ICA and pay S$60 to have the pass issued.
  • TMC students may not work during their studies: the 6+6 internship runs on a separate Training Work Permit (up to 6 months, granted to a foreign student only once). SP Jain students in Singapore may work up to 16 hours a week.
  • Your Student’s Pass is cancelled when you finish. To stay and work you need a work pass applied for by an employer.

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to study in Singapore?
At TMC the 6+6 programme costs S$5,481, a Foundation S$6,791, an Anglia Ruskin bachelor’s S$31,857 for three years and the MBA S$24,926, plus 9% GST. At SP Jain the first BBA year in Singapore is $28,300 and the MGB $38,430. Housing and food are extra. We will work out your full budget in a consultation.
Do I need IELTS?
Not always. At TMC you can start with an English course or with the CTFP, which includes English classes. A Foundation or the 6+6 programme needs IELTS 5.5 or a completed TMC English course, a bachelor’s 6.0 and the MBA 6.5. SP Jain asks for IELTS 6.0 for its bachelor’s and 6.5 for master’s programmes.
Can I apply after grade 9 or grade 11?
At TMC, yes: international students join Foundation and diploma courses after grade 9, from age 15–17 depending on the course. Year 1 of an ARU bachelor’s needs 12 years of schooling, so after grade 11 students usually go through a TMC Foundation and diploma. SP Jain accepts CIS school leavers onto its BBA after grade 11 with an average of at least 4.00 out of 5. More in our plan for studying abroad after school.
How does the 6+6 programme work, and is the internship legal?
It is TMC’s Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management: 6–8 months of classes (depending on your English) and a 6-month paid internship at a hotel or travel company. The internship is legal: the employer applies for a Training Work Permit for you, and your Student’s Pass is cancelled for that period. TMC says interns earn S$600–1,000 a month. If no placement is found or the permit is refused, you take an extra module and still receive the diploma.
Can I work part-time while studying?
Not at TMC: on a Student’s Pass only students of schools on the Singapore Ministry of Manpower’s list may work, and TMC is not on it. The only work possible is the 6+6 internship. SP Jain is on the list, so its students in Singapore may work up to 16 hours a week during term and during vacations.
Whose degree will I receive?
At TMC the bachelor’s and MBA degrees are awarded by the UK’s Anglia Ruskin University, while Foundation, diploma and Higher Diploma certificates come from TMC itself. SP Jain awards its own Australian degree: it is registered with Australia’s TEQSA as an Institute of Higher Education. In Uzbekistan a foreign diploma goes through a recognition procedure, so keep that in mind early.
Are there scholarships?
TMC awards scholarships to top students but does not publish the amounts; we will check SP Jain’s terms for your intake. All grants are competitive, so it is safer to plan your budget without one. For other options see scholarships to study abroad.
How long does the Student’s Pass take?
You apply 2–3 months before the course starts. For TMC and SP Jain, ICA usually decides within two weeks. The fees are S$45 to apply and S$60 to have the pass issued. We will prepare the documents together.
